Trina's therapeutic practice is always trauma-informed and anchored by the principles of Person Centred Therapy - empathy, non-judgement and authenticity.

Along with humanistic, emotion focused therapy approaches, Trina primarily uses Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (or ISTDP), an evidence-based psychodynamic psychotherapy. This approach enables individuals to interrupt unconscious,  problematic coping behaviours and defence mechanisms, in order to experience avoided emotions in a healthy, regulated way. ​Trina uses other practical, solution-focused approaches where appropriate.

Reasons for seeking treatment with Trina may include: trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship problems (relationships with partners, family, colleagues, friends), addictions, grief, parenting challenges, low self-esteem, anger-management, self-sabotage patterns, problematic thought processes and health concerns.

Whilst Trina treats a broad range of emotional difficulties and mental health problems in her private practice work, she has also specialised in addictions treatment and has worked in an LGBTIQA+ specific setting.
